Privacy policy

İzmir Transit has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no server of its own. This page lists everything the app sends anywhere.
Your location
If you allow it, the app reads your location on your phone to show nearby stops, centre the map on you, and start trip directions from where you are. Your location is not stored or sent anywhere by the app. Google Maps draws the blue "you are here" dot inside the map, under Google's privacy policy.

None of these requests include your name, your location (except the map area you are viewing) or any identifier created by the app. Google's handling of map and place-search requests is covered by the Google Privacy Policy.
On your phone only
Favourite stops and lines, home and work, recent trip-planner places, settings and arrival alerts are stored on your phone and never uploaded. Uninstalling the app deletes them.
Permissions
- Location (optional): nearby stops, the map's location dot and directions from where you are.
- Precise location while a trip is tracked (optional): when you tap "Start trip" in the trip planner, the app follows your location every few seconds, only until you arrive or stop it, to tell you when to get off. A notification shows while this runs. The location stays on your phone.
- Notifications (optional): the "my bus is N stops away" alert and trip tracking. The app asks only when you first use one of them.
- Internet: live data, the map and weekly data updates.
